The soil of our planet is degrading rapidly and causing a deterioration in
the quality and quantity of food that we produce and consume. Scientists
predict that we would be facing severe food shortages in 30-40 years' time
unless we act now. For this, a global movement #SaveSoil- an initiative led
forward by the Isha Foundation, a volunteer-based non-profit organisation
founded by Sadhguru- has been launched where all citizens of the world
are coming together and voicing their support to bring strong policies
to save soil.
In congruence with this initiative, students of Forms VI and VII have
written letters to honourable Prime Minister. The subject matter of the
letter reflected a plea for supporting policy change to save our soils.
The letters were to be presented to the Prime Minister on
5th June, World Environment Day.
